R. Todd Benson

Principal Investigator

Ed.D., Vanderbilt University

Todd served as a student affairs administrator for more than ten years before pursuing a doctorate in Higher Education Leadership and Policy. His transition from student affairs to academic affairs began at East Stroudsburg University, where he worked in service-learning and civic engagement, collaborating with faculty and staff on a range of classroom-based and co-curricular projects.

During his doctoral studies, Todd examined the experiences of doctoral students and the factors that shaped their acculturation into their respective disciplines. This work deepened as he took on roles in both the Office of the Associate Dean of Graduate Education for Peabody College of Education and Human Development and the Vanderbilt Institutional Research Group. His efforts culminated in a capstone project titled Career Trajectories and Outcomes of Ph.D. Recipients from the Vanderbilt University College of Arts & Sciences.

Todd is currently on leave from his role as Executive Director at COACHE. In the meantime, please direct any inquiries to Jeannie Kim or the appropriate COACHE staff member.
