[POD Network Conference] "Flying COACHE: How survey data bridges gaps and informs practice"

Date:

Friday, November 15, 2019, 2:15pm to 3:30pm

Location:

David L. Lawrence Convention Center, Room 318. Pittsburgh, PA

Using data to inform practice is a best practice that is not always possible in day-to-day operations. Organizational silos and limited expertise in data analysis can limit the strategic use of data to drive programming. The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (COACHE) is a research-practice partnership focused on providing colleges and universities with rigorous data to inform the practice of those who work with and support faculty. This session addresses the experiences of three different institutional types and invites participants to analyze data and its use for centers, and provide feedback on teaching-focused questions recently piloted by COACHE.

Topics: Assessment, Organizational Development

Audience: POD Network Members, Center Directors, Administrators (Assoc. Deans, Deans, Vice Provosts, Assoc. VPs)

Presenters:

  • Julia Metzker, The Evergreen State College
  • R. Todd Benson, COACHE (Harvard Graduate School of Education)
