Mid-career faculty actively seek professional satisfaction and personal well-being in their careers at the departmental and institutional level, however, a growing body of research tells us that the policies and practices in place at colleges and universities do not always support this goal. The forthcoming book, Success After Tenure: Supporting Mid-Career Faculty,  aims to examine the issue under a critical lens and offer inspiration - and reality checks - to the administrators, faculty developers, and department chairs charged with better supporting their faculty.

This webinar, “Success After Tenure: Lessons in Engaging Mid-Career Faculty” will offer an inside take on the themes of the book and provide real-world best practices from practitioners in the field.

Attendees of this webinar will gain an understanding of:

  • The innovative programs that provide support and development opportunities to mid-career faculty
  • Trends and common themes uncovered in the process of editing Success After Tenure
  • Best practices that have led to effective engagement of mid-career faculty

Presenters include lead editor of Success After Tenure, Vicki L. Baker; contributing author, Todd Benson; and Anne Marie Canale and Cheryl Herdklotz from the Faculty Career Development team at the Rochester Institute of Technology, whose COACHE data validates their successful implementation of programs for the professional and organizational development of mid-career faculty at their institution.

All registrants will receive the recording and presentation slides for the webinar, as well as a discount code for the book, Success After Tenure: Supporting Mid-Career Faculty.
