COACHE Strategy Workshop

Date:

Thu - Fri, Aug 8 to Aug 9, 2:00pm - 5:00pm

Location:

Harvard Graduate School of Education, Cambridge, MA 02138

For COACHE partners who have their results in hand and those that are preparing to survey in the spring,  spend the afternoon at Harvard with our team to "workshop" your Faculty Job Satisfaction Survey communication, dissemination, and engagement strategies. You will learn how to interpret your report, avoid pitfalls, and plan your academic year as a data-driven process of institutional improvement. There is no fee to participate, but only representatives (individually or in teams) of COACHE partner institutions may attend. An optional welcome reception will take place on Thursday, August 8th.

High-level Agenda:

Thursday, August 8

2 – 5 pm, Report Review & Analysis

Note: This session is open to Year 2 partners only. In this session, our team will walk through our reporting platform, and work with institutions who have just received their results to highlight the various ways of viewing and understanding the data.

6 – 8 pm, Welcome Reception ft. presentation by Dr. Kathryn Parker Boudett, Director of Data Wise

All partners are invited to dinner and discussion in the Elliot Lyman Room.

Friday, August 9

8:30 am – 4:30 pm, Strategic & Tactical Workshops: Effectively Engaging Campus Constituents

We will begin the day with breakfast and introductions. The first morning session is designed to focus on helping our partners identify the types of skills and qualities that will benefit their work most. In some cases, teams have already been formed but this is an opportunity to reassess and reinvent if necessary.

Regardless of the cohort year, a key component to working with COACHE is developing and executing a communication plan that engages faculty in a broader discussion of the academic workplace. To that end, the remainder of the morning will involve panel discussions and small group work of your communication plan.

Teams are encouraged to enjoy lunch in the Harvard Square while they finalize their communication plans. After lunch, teams will return and share their communication plans in small groups.

At the end of the afternoon, the COACHE team would like to share some notes about our next initiatives. This is an opportunity for our partners to give us direct feedback on where COACHE should place resources.

4:30 pm onward, Optional: Drinks Longfellow

After a busy week, our team will be celebrating with a cocktail at the Longfellow Bar. If your travel plans permit, we welcome you to join us.
